District Hosts Zimbabwean Ambassador to Explore Joint Opportunities in Education and Agriculture
On this Wednesday 28 May 2025, the District had the honor of receiving H.E. Professor Charity Manyeruke, Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Rwanda, on a courtesy visit to Mayor Bosco Nyemazi. The high-level engagement was also attended by Vice Mayor in charge of Social Affairs, Harelimana Jean Damascène.
The discussions centered on strategic areas of cooperation, including education, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), school feeding programs, and potential investment opportunities in tourism and agriculture. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to advancing bilateral relations and fostering sustainable development through impactful partnerships.
Following the meeting, Ambassador Manyeruke and Vice Mayor Harelimana visited Rukara Model School in Gahini Sector. The visit aimed to connect with Zimbabwean teachers working at the school and to appreciate their contributions to Rwanda’s education system. It also served as a symbol of the deepening collaboration between the two nations in promoting academic excellence and cross-cultural exchange.
This collaboration underscores the shared vision of Zimbabwe and Rwanda in raising education standards and equipping the next generation with the skills needed to thrive in a dynamic, knowledge-based economy. The involvement of Zimbabwean educators in local schools highlights the value of regional cooperation in enriching learning environments and fostering mutual understanding.
Mayor Nyemazi expressed heartfelt appreciation for the growing partnership, noting that such engagements not only strengthen institutional ties but also promote solidarity between the peoples of Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
